FIVE THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER DO IN AN INTERVIEW
For those of us who need to get a joh, there is no job without an interview unless some "invisible forces" are present.
An interviewis a formal meeting, in person for the assessment of a candidate or an applicant. Interview is also the platform through which an employer gets to know the applicant before he(applicant) assumes the position of an employee. A person who conducts an interview or who asks the questions is called the interviewer while the person who is being interviewed or who answers the questions is an interviewee.
For applicants or interviewees, here are five things that you should never do in an interview;
1. Never come late: An adage says that "the early bird catches the worm" so the late bird stays hungry. If you must get that job,you must really be early on that day of interview. If possible, come before time so as to be the one waiting for them. As you know,the students are meant to be waiting for the teacher, not the other way round. So you should be early enough and be present when summoned. If you come late, you can as well be rest assured that you are going home jobless.
2. Do not answer hastily: As you have been called into the office,never be too fast to answer the question asked without thinking it through. Before you speak in an interview carefully think about the question you were asked and then answer in line with the question. Also be ready to defend the answer you have given as some cunning interviewers may ask you another question from the answer you have already given to see how firm your response is. If you fail to defend your answer,then you can as well forget about the job.
3.Never appear absentminded or distracted: During the course of the interview, make sure you are focused on what you came for. Ensure you are comfortably seated to avoid shifting from side to side on your seat. Put on a "serious-minded cheerful face" i.e do not look annoyed or over happy. Just put up a bright face and focus on the interview. Also if possible switch off your phone or put it in silence to also avoid being distracted by it. If your interviewers notice you are distracted, you are already on the path of loss.
4.Never appear rude or harsh: Better keep your awkward character at home on the day of your interview else it will mar you. If you have a reputation of rudeness, you stand a chance of losing your job. Avoid being rude in speech, actions, behaviors, conduct, and even the way you look at them!!!. If your interviewers sense an atom of rudeness in you, then you will be sent away easily costing you your job.
5. Never leave God out of the entire process: You can practice all that has been revealed above, but if you do not give God his rightful place, you stand a chance of losing everything.
Involving God keeps you a step ahead of your fellow applicants; why? Bible says in the book of proverbs 21:1" In the Lord’s hand the king’s heart is a stream of water that he channels toward all who please him."(NIV) So if you please the Lord,the interviewers' heart will be turned to favour you.
